Pakistan’s northwest has seen the worst monsoon floods in living memory and more than a million people are affected by this disaster. Numerous families live in isolated villages and are currently cut off from the rest of the world. The authorities have announced that more than 1’100 people have died and the death toll continues to rise with many people reported missing.
Swiss Solidarity follows the development of the situation attentively and is in contact with its partner organisations. Should they be able to intervene in the region, Swiss Solidarity will support their actions.
