“Having a media partner, especially one that places so much importance on radio, is reminiscent of the founding of Swiss Solidarity in 1946 by hosts from Radio Sottens.”Tony Burgener, Swiss Solidarity Director
Our partner NGOs are the direct link between our donors and victims of crisis. Our primarily role is to fund these partners’ worthwhile projects and ensure that they are implemented efficiently and effectively.
In the past, Swiss Solidarity has worked with Fondation Hirondelle occasionally without being official partners, namely in Central African Republic and currently in Bangladesh in a Rohingya refugee camp. These projects demonstrated Fondation Hirondelle’s effectiveness and conscientiousness.
The foundation is a Swiss non-profit organisation founded in 1995. Since its beginnings, it has been present in 19 countries and it is currently active in seven countries (Mali, Niger, Burkina, DRC, Central African Republic, Myanmar and Bangladesh). Through its work, several million people facing major crises have daily access to media that speak to them while giving them a voice.
