One year ago, a powerful earthquake struck Southeast Asia. Thanks to the solidarity shown in Switzerland, the Swiss Solidarity Foundation was able to raise nearly 8 million Swiss francs and fund emergency assistance for more than 230,000 people in Myanmar, including shelter, water, healthcare, psychosocial support and access to education.

Nearly two months after the severe earthquake that shook Southeast Asia on 28 March 2025, Swiss Solidarity is funding eight humanitarian projects run by its Swiss partner organisations in Myanmar, providing life-saving aid to thousands of families affected by the disaster.
