Cyclone Idai devastated much of Mozambique. Torrential rains caused terrible floods that washed away homes, hospitals, schools, roads and bridges. Beira, Mozambique’s fourth largest city, was 90% destroyed, according to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent.
In addition to Mozambique, several hundred thousand people have been affected by the cyclone and floods in Zimbabwe and Malawi.
Our NGO partners, who are already present in the field, are expressing great distress. There is an urgent need for shelter, medical care, daily necessities and access to clean water. In a second phase, it will naturally be necessary to rebuild the houses and infrastructure.
With your donation, our partner NGOs can provide the people of Mozambique with shelter, medical care, access to clean water and basic necessities. Thank you for your support!
