The threat of winter looms for the people of Ukraine

On 10 and 11 October, cities across Ukraine, including Kyiv, were again subjected to deadly bombing raids. They have been causing not only civilian deaths and injuries, but also great psychological suffering and severe damage to civilian homes and infrastructure. In many areas, the population no longer has access to water, electricity, sanitation and adequate healthcare. With winter fast approaching, Ukraine is facing the prospect of a massive humanitarian crisis.

“The coming winter will undoubtedly be one of the hardest that the Ukrainian people have ever faced. In addition to the relentless bombing, the population faces the additional threats of freezing temperatures, damaged homes and heating systems, and electricity and gas cuts.”
Charline Franz, Humanitarian Programme Manager

Helping victims of the war in Ukraine

The funds raised through this Sony Music Switzerland initiative will enable Swiss Solidarity to continue supporting projects aimed at helping the people of Ukraine as they prepare for winter. The money will also go to help people displaced within Ukraine and those who have had to flee to neighbouring countries, by providing them with necessities such as food, medicine and emergency shelter.
