In Lebanon, the escalation of violence has triggered a severe humanitarian crisis. Bombardments have affected several regions of the country, including residential areas. Hundreds of people have been killed or injured, and nearly one million people have been forced to flee their homes. Many families have lost everything and are in urgent need of shelter, food, drinking water, medical care and other essential items.
In the face of this emergency, Swiss Solidarity is calling for solidarity in order to assist the affected civilian population.
Humanitarian aid in Lebanon
Several of Swiss Solidarity’s NGO partners are active in Lebanon and are providing emergency assistance, including ADRA, Caritas, HEKS, Helvetas, the Swiss Red Cross, Medair, MSF, Save the Children Switzerland and Terre des hommes. They support the affected population by ensuring access to safe shelter, medical care, drinking water and food.
Thanks to the presence of these Swiss NGO partners on the ground, Swiss Solidarity is able to provide rapid and effective assistance. Swiss Solidarity closely monitors developments and remains in close contact with its partners in order to continuously adapt the aid to the needs of the affected population.
