From 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., telephone donation centres in Zurich, Geneva, Lugano and Chur received donation pledges from across Switzerland. Organised in partnership with SRG SSR, the National Day of Solidarity marked the end of a week-long mobilisation in support of people affected by the conflict in Sudan and its consequences in neighbouring countries.
The donations will enable Swiss Solidarity’s Swiss NGO partners to continue and scale up their life-saving assistance in Sudan, Chad and South Sudan, providing food, clean drinking water, medical care, shelter, protection and psychosocial support. Swiss Solidarity has been funding humanitarian projects in the region since the outbreak of the war in 2023.
Donations can still be made at www.bonheur.ch, via TWINT or at any post office, quoting the reference “Sudan Emergency".
